Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is the provincial conservation authority for KwaZulu-Natal, managing protected areas, permits, tenders and conservation information.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, established under the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Management Act No. 9 of 1997, is mandated to conserve biodiversity, manage protected areas, and promote sustainable ecotourism across KwaZulu-Natal. That mandate is anchored in both national and provincial environmental legislation, including the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (57 of 2003) and the National Biodiversity Act (10 of 2004).
